Her Mom died and she was nearly frozen to death. The dog in the picture is Rocket. My mini Australian Shepard. He is helping lick her dry to warm her up.
Puddles
This is what Puddles looks like now. Quite a difference, huh?? I spent many an hour bottle feeding and nurturing her to keep her alive. Her body temp was 86* when I found her, should be around 100.
Luckily I keep colostrum frozen for instances just like this one. I thawed some out and forced it in her, wrapped her in an electric blanket, gave her antibiotics and managed to save her.
I sold my cattle herd in August and retired from farming, but just could not bear to let Puddles go. She will have a home here for all her life.

Michael and Jaeger
This is an after Christmas picture of my husband, Michael and our beloved Australian Cattle Dog, Jaeger. I found him on the way to work one morning back in June. Some beast had tossed him in a dumpster. I crawled in there and got him out. He was only 3 or 4 months old at the time. Now he is treated like a prince (of coarse, you know who is treated like a king!)
